WALLOWA COUNTY WINTERFEST'S
1st ANNUAL PROFESSIONAL SNOCROSS RACES
January 28th & 29th, 2006
The first annual Wallowa County WinterFest SnoCross Races will draw a crowd of snowmobile enthusiasts
from throughout the Pacific Northwest.
About 1000- 1500 spectators and contestants should attend. Entrance fees are $10.00 a ticket for the race
or $15.00 to gain access to the pits. The race will be brought to you by The Wallowa County Gamblers
Snowmobile Club and Mountain West Racing of
Meridian, Idaho.
The races will be held on January 28th at the Cheif Joseph Days rodeo grounds in Joseph, Oregon. Races will start
at 11 AM and run until about 4 PM. After the race will be a dance in the Thunder Room for all those who want to stay and mingle with
the racers and their families.
Snocross racing is like motocross racing, except snowmobiles are raced instead of dirt bikes, and instead
of a dirt track, the race is on a snow-covered track about a third of a mile long. The track winds around
and up and down and is full of jumps to test the skills of the riders and their machines. There are many
different classes of races at these events. The riders operate on a point system, much like NASCAR.
